The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Dr. Ashatu Kijaji (MP), has stated that Tanzania’s outstanding success at the World Travel Awards 2025 is a direct outcome of the visionary leadership of H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, particularly through the globally acclaimed promotional film “Tanzania: The Royal Tour.”

Speaking in Dodoma on 15 December 2025, after officially receiving the awards won by Tanzania at the World Travel Awards ceremony held on 6 December 2025 in Bahrain, Dr. Kijaji said the achievements mark a significant milestone and a moment of reflection on the remarkable progress of the tourism sector under the Sixth Phase Government.

She emphasized that The Royal Tour has showcased Tanzania’s exceptional natural attractions, rich cultural and historical heritage, peace and stability, national unity, and vast tourism and investment opportunities to a global audience.

“Through The Royal Tour, the world has seen for itself the richness of Tanzania’s natural attractions, heritage sites, culture, and tourism investment potential,” said Dr. Kijaji.

The Minister added that the initiative has significantly enhanced Tanzania’s global image as a safe, peaceful, and unique tourism destination, contributing to increased tourist arrivals, growing investor confidence, and strengthened competitiveness in the international tourism market.

Dr. Kijaji also expressed her appreciation to the private sector for its vital contribution to these achievements and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to continued collaboration with tourism stakeholders, as well as to strengthening an enabling environment for tourism business and investment.
