Chinese Tourists excited by TANZANIA tourist attractions

Over 330 Chinese tourists who jetted into the country for a four day visit have concluded their historical visit and promise to return again after enjoying to their expectation a tour to some attractions in Tanzania during their special program to Africa namely “Tour Africa the new Horizon.”
The group which prior to coming to Tanzania paid a one day visit to Djibout, arrived in Tanzania on 12 June, 2019 via Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) where they were accorded a colorful reception graced by among many dignitaries six ministers led by the Prime Minister Hon. Kassim Majaliwa and thereafter a grand dinner reception at Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha.
The first batch of the tourists featuring 40 journalists, businessmen and investors from 27 companies, government officials and celebrities started their voyage on May 10 to Djibout where they spent only one day and thereafter flew to the country through Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) using charter plane.
While in the country, the Chinese tourists had an opportunity to visit Ngorongoro Crater, the Olduvai Gorge Museum, Serengeti national park and Maasai boma in Ngorongoro Conservation Area. They also stopped over for shopping at a prominent African Galleria Center in Karatu along Arusha –Serengeti road. Before driving to Ngorongoro Crater to join others, businessmen and investors attended a half day investment forum with their Tanzanian counterparts at Arusha International Conference Center (AICC).
Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) Managing Director Devota Mdachi and the board Chairman Judge Thomas Mihayo have affirmed the inaugural specially organized visit of tourists from China was a great success. They made a comment at the peak of Far East visitors’ sightseeing. “It was a great step by Tanzania to attract such a big number of visitors from places that were previously not thought of” said Judge Mihayo.
During their stay in the country, the chinese tourists were really amazed by the beauty and peculiar attractions Tanzania is gifted with. “It was a successful introduction of Tanzania attractions to the people of China and Far East. They came, saw and conclude that this is the destination which was yet to be discovered by Chinese people” enthused the Managing Director.
Speaking at the dinner reception at Mount Meru hotel the Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa commended the tourists for choosing Tanzania as their preferred destination, assuring them of safety and bliss as they sample the country’s natural resources.
The Premier lauded Mr He Liehui who is the chairman of the Touchroad International Holdings Group for making this trip possible. “We are very grateful to the agent for making this a reality, Tanzania is one of the friendliest countries in the world with hospitable people” the PM remarked.
On his part, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism Dr. Hamis Kigwangalla acknowledged that the country was making strides on the tourism front.  “This is an indication of how serious we are in tapping more tourists from other countries, albeit in a short period” he said adding that China is one of Tanzania’s lead secondary markets at the moment.
The group left the country using the same charter plane of Ethiopian Airline to Zimbabwe where they were expected to spend two days before flying back home.
