Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) continues its efforts of promoting sports tourism through the Second Edition of Rumble in Dar which will be held at the Next Door Arena, Masaki- Dar-es-Salaam on 28th May, 2021. TTB will use this opportunity to showcase Tourism products that Tanzania has to offer. As part of their sponsorship TTB will provide robes to the boxers that will be branded with the Tanzania’s destination brand “Tanzania unforgettable”.
Speaking during the press conference that was held today at Onomo Hotel, Dar es Salaam. The TTB’s Domestic and Regional Marketing Manager, Mr. Felix John remarks that “Through this boxing contest Tanzania will be known and attract many boxing fans to visit its tourist attractions. Also, these contests will be advantageous for the country as the world will be able to see Tanzania as a host for sports tournaments hence boosting sports tourism as a tourism product.”
Rumble in Dar is a boxing tournament where boxers from Tanzania get a chance to challenge opponents from different parts of the world. This event will be broadcasted live on Plus TV channel 294 in DSTV that will reach over 32 countries across Africa.
The forthcoming event will be headlined by Hassan Mwakinyo “Champez” from Tanzania against Brendon Denes aka “Boika” from Zimbabwe for the World Boxing Council (WBC) African Boxing Union Super Welterweight Championship, the co-main event by Shaban Jongo from Tanzania against Durodola Olanrewaju from Nigeria for the World Boxing Union Cruiserweight Championship and the fight between Ibrahim Class from Tanzania against Sibusiso Zingange from South Africa. This fight will be accompanied with other contestants from Ukraine and Bulgaria.
