1.NYANGUMI FESTIVAL
Was officially launched August 28, 2024 by the head of Mtwara District Mwanahamisi Munkunda in Mashujaa Park, Mtwara Municipality Mikindani in Mtwara region.
The main goal of the festival is to promote tourism attractions in the southern region.
In addition, the festival aims to create awareness in the community about the importance of tourism and the resources that are preserved (in other words domestic tourism).
Whales prefer to come to Mtwara specifically to the reserve due to the environment being friendly for them to mate, reproducing and rearing.
2.MAJIMAJI FESTIVAL
The commemorative festival of 118 years of the water war in parallel with the celebration of the tourism and culture festival was launched by the guest of honor, Mr. Laban Elius Thomas, Ruvuma Reginal Commissioner on 23rd February,2023. Mr. Laban Elius Thomas visited Exhibition Stands including TTB stand. The opening ceremony also included speeches from the Guest of Honor and Ministers responsible for tourism from both Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.
