Strengthening the Tanzania–Qatar Tourism Corridor
A new chapter for Destination Tanzania Unforgettable as Tanzania deepens strategic tourism collaboration with the State of Qatar.
Following Tanzania’s successful participation at the Qatar Travel & Tourism Exhibition (QTM), the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) is pleased to announce a major milestone in strengthening tourism relations between Tanzania and the State of Qatar.
Under the Visit Qatar Roadshow initiative, TTB recently hosted a high-level delegation of Qatari travel and tourism agents in Tanzania. The visit formed part of a broader strategy to deepen market engagement in the Middle East and position Tanzania as a preferred destination for travellers from Qatar and the wider Gulf region.
The delegation was formally welcomed by Ambassador Dr. Ramadhani Dau, Chairman of the Tanzania Tourist Board Board of Directors. During the engagement, Dr. Dau emphasised that the visit goes beyond a familiarisation tour, describing it as a strategic partnership aimed at unlocking new tourism opportunities and expanding Tanzania’s footprint in high-value source markets.
Key outcomes of the collaboration include:
- Global Air Visibility: “Unforgettable Tanzania” destination content will be featured on Qatar Airways inflight entertainment, reaching millions of international passengers.
- Unified Marketing: Joint international marketing campaigns between TTB and Qatari partners targeting high-spending and experience-driven travellers.
- Enhanced Connectivity: Expansion of tourism agent networks and improved aviation linkages between Doha and Tanzania’s major tourism hubs.
This collaboration reflects the strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Tanzania and Qatar, while reinforcing Tanzania’s position as a globally competitive and diverse tourism destination.
As TTB continues to implement its international market diversification strategy, partnerships such as this ensure that Tanzania remains visible, accessible, and attractive to travellers across the Middle East and beyond.
