The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) continues to strengthen Tanzania’s position in the global Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism market through its participation in the Meet Global MICE Congress, taking place in Moscow, Russian Federation, for two days starting from 17 December 2025.

The Tanzanian delegation to the congress is led by the Director General of the Tanzania Tourist Board, Mr. Ephraim Balozi Mafuru, who participated in a high-level international panel discussion focusing on the role of MICE tourism in enhancing destination image, competitiveness, and global visibility.

During his presentation, Mr. Mafuru highlighted, supported by data, the significant progress Tanzania is making in developing the MICE sector, while showcasing the wide range of opportunities available for international meeting organizers, event planners, and investors in the country’s tourism industry.

Through the congress, Mr. Mafuru also used the platform to promote Tanzania as an emerging hub for meetings, events, and tourism investment in Africa, while extending an invitation to the Russian market to visit Tanzania and explore investment opportunities within the tourism sector.

On the sidelines of the congress, the Director General held meetings with various tourism and aviation stakeholders, including airline representatives, to discuss potential collaborations aimed at increasing tourist arrivals from the Russian market. He also conducted a special interview with Russia’s RIA News Agency, further amplifying Tanzania’s visibility in the international media.

These engagements continue to position Tanzania as a competitive and attractive global destination for meetings and events tourism, in line with the Government’s ongoing efforts to promote tourism as a key pillar of national economic growth.
