Dar es Salaam, 10 September 2025 – The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) participated in the National Blue Economy Stakeholders Forum held at KingJada Hotel, Dar es Salaam, under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Opportunity.”

The forum brought together over 250 stakeholders from various institutions and partners, including the European Union (EU).

Representing the Director General of TTB, Mr. Abdilahi Ameir, TTB Marketing Officer, delivered a presentation on blue (marine) tourism and its role in strengthening the tourism value chain in Tanzania.

In his presentation, he highlighted the vast opportunities offered by the Indian Ocean, especially in Mafia Island, which is renowned for whale sharks, diving & snorkeling sites, and marine conservation and eco-tourism.

TTB reaffirmed its commitment to continue implementing strategies to develop and promote blue tourism so that marine resources can fully contribute to the national economy and the well-being of local communities.
