Tanzania’s presence at FITUR 2026 was stronger than ever, with private sector participation more than doubling compared to the previous year - increasing from 20 tourism agents in 2025 to 45 agents in 2026. This growth reflects rising confidence and collaboration within the tourism industry.

The Tanzania stand showcased world-class tourism offerings through coordinated efforts by key stakeholders, including the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT), Tanzania Lodge Operators Association (TLTO), and the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO).

During the fair, Tanzania held high-level engagements with international airlines and representatives from UN Tourism, focusing on strengthening destination connectivity, infrastructure development, and global market positioning.

Speaking on the outcomes of FITUR 2026, Mr. James Nanyaro, TLTO Coordinator, commended the seamless synergy between the government and the private sector, while emphasizing the importance of initiating preparations even earlier for future international tourism platforms.

With more than 10,000 companies from over 160 countries in attendance, Tanzania departs Madrid with valuable business leads, a unified national vision, and renewed momentum to advance sustainable tourism growth and global competitiveness.
